Dear All,

I am sorry it’s been so long before I could have anything to say about the Centre and especially when it is likely to re-open.

Since lockdown ( all that time ago) the committee have been looking at ways in which the Centre could re-open in conjunction with both Government advice and guidelines as well as waiting for National Centre to issue their guidance. We had been looking at various options and putting an implementation plan in place in the hope of announcing a date in October.

Unfortunately, these plans have been somewhat thwarted by decisions taken in London which would seriously curtail such action. We would only be allowed to re-open following making the Centre “Covid Secure” (which had plans to do) and only to offer a basic social gathering with no activities lasting more than 15 minutes! We would also not be able to offer any food – only drinks
No physiotherapy sessions of any kind are to be allowed until the results of trials currently being undertaken by National Centre at twenty groups around the country, which is not due to end until the end of October.

So, very reluctantly, the committee has agreed my recommendation to postpone our plans to re-open until January next year. I fully understand your disappointment and appreciate this is not what you wanted to hear. The small “bubbles” that are now in existence are fantastic and together with the continuing liaising by our “communications team “, I do hope no-one is feeling isolated. If you do need helpplease do not hesitate to get in touch.

Take care and keep safe,
